Teenagers make up 30% of Turkey's population two times higher than EU average.
- Did you know that each year over 1,5 million Turkish students take the National University Placement Exam, but only 30% of them are placed in a university in Turkey? This means that many students will be looking to foreign institutions for admission.
- In 2005, 1,728,077 students took the National University Placement Exam and only 380,607 of them were placed in a university.
- According to the Ministry of Education Statistics, more than 25,000 Turkish students preferred to study abroad in 2004. Including the summer school and short-term tourist visas total student number was over 40,000 per year.
- Turkey's political stability and recent economical improvements have made study abroad more accessible to students.
- According to the Jan/Feb. 2006 issue of International Educator Magazine, the number of Turkish students studying in the U.S increased 9.4% over the past 3 years.
According to Open Door statistics, in 2003/2004, there were 11,398 students from Turkey studying in the USA. This doesn't include short term language students.
- In 2003 there were more than 11,000 Turkish students in the UK.
- Since January 2004 the number of Turkish students studying in Canada has increased significantly. The number of long-term study permit authorizations increased by 14.72%.
- Based on our past experience, we believe that Turkish students are playing an important role in enhancing student diversity on school campuses all over the world.
- Turkey is a member of NATO and the only Muslim country with a secular, democratic government. It is a modern environment in which schools can feel safe and can access regional markets conveniently.
